Weather
Sequim abounds in micro climates. Closer to the water, the winds are higher and the summers less warm. Sunny View is sheltered, to the point that high winds in town are not reflected in winds at the property. Here’s a data point:
Saturday March 7th 2009, we experienced high sustained (30+) and gusts (47+) in town, and at our Lone Eagle property. It was difficult to walk in these winds, and the Lone Eagle house rattled with the gusts. At the property on Sunny View, I would judge the winds at about 3 mph with gusts to maybe 8. Some photos:
Generally, we don’t get much wind at Sunny View. I’ll continue to gather data as the year progresses, but the pond shows nary a ripple while the wind howls at Lone Eagle.
